Under the direction of the VP – Operations, the Director of Teen Services is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operation of the Teen Services Center, overall teen programming, working with the VP community engagement and volunteer service coordinator. Our teen director will be involved with all camps under the Sid Jacobson JCC. He/She/They will aid in the planning and implementation of various Jewish educational experiences for teens and pre-teens.
This position is in Nassau County (East Hills), Long Island.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Support the operations of the Teen Services Center through direct program instruction and supervision
-Oversee the day-to-day aspects of the Teen Services Department as assigned by the VP of Operations
-Create new and innovative programming and fundraisers with the approval of the VP’s
-Plan, organize, and implement year-round high quality programs and activities for pre-teens and teens including Friday Night Lights
-Recommend the development of programs and promote program participations
-Ensure the involvement of pre-teens and teens in the development and implementation of programs and activities that meet their specific needs and interest
-Develop strong partnerships with parents, community leaders, synagogues, and organizations to expand and enhance teen programming and advocate for teen population
-Allocate and monitor work assigned to session workers, program volunteers, and part-time staff; provide ongoing feedback, and regular appraisal
-Work with staff on departmental and agency special events
-Create and schedule academic review classes (AP’s & Regents)
-Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
-Bachelor’s degree preferred
-Youth/Teen engagement or related experience required
-Demonstrated ability in working with pre-teens, teens, parents, and community leaders
-Knowledge of Jewish community and culture
Strong organizational skills; ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
-Self-motivated leader who can work independently as well as part of a team
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Ability to plan and organize activities
-Active listening, judgment, and decision-making skills
